Maps of Lamma Island

Long but irregularly shaped and quite hilly the coastline of Lamma Island has for thousands of years providing landing places and natural harbours for the inhabitants.  Today the majority of the small population lives on the northerly Yung Shue Wan village which ad adjacent to the power station.  While the second most popular village is Sok Kwu Wan, located on the eastern part of the narrow waist of the island, which is has an almost enclosed natural harbour.

The southern more hill part of Lamma is less populated, but around the coastline there are other smaller communities which are mostly residential and have no facilities for visitors.

A network of well maintained walking paths makes it possible to visit any part of the island, however the steep hills makes the paths unsuitable for those with disabilities.
